The Bathurst Ambassadors Program is a CPF Sector 2 initiative created to improve safety, visibility, and visitor support in the CBD. Launched in July 2025, the program places trained, identifiable Ambassadors in the village centre to observe, report, guide visitors, and contribute to a calmer and more welcoming environment.
Our Ambassadors form part of a daily presence in the CBD, helping reduce disturbances, supporting local businesses, and offering friendly assistance to anyone who needs it. They carry identification tags with QR codes linking to safety information, community projects, and ways to support the initiative.
The program also strengthens community upliftment by providing skills development, structured mentorship, and potential employment opportunities for local residents.
The Bathurst Ambassadors Program is entirely community funded. Your support—whether financial, through vouchers, or by helping spread the word—keeps this initiative active and sustainable.
Since the conception of this idea back in late 2023, these contributions have been utilised to build a sustainable safety framework:
Ambassador Presence: Facilitating direct payments for CBD presence.
Vital Equipment: Procurement of Ambassadors' attire and communication radios.
Sector Signage: Funding for official loitering signs and CBD visibility.
Operational Mobility: Support for fuel and coordination tasks.
We recognise the following individuals and businesses who have served as the backbone of the Bathurst Ambassadors initiative since its inception. By shifting from donors to partners, you have made this safety structure a reality.

Our chosen emblem, the White Paintbrush Lily, reflects our values perfectly. Endemic to the Eastern Cape, this resilient flower symbolises renewal, purity, and the strength that comes from growing together as a community.
Like the lily, the Ambassadors represent a welcoming presence in our village.
To create a Bathurst CBD that is safe, vibrant, and welcoming — a place where residents, businesses, and visitors feel confident, connected, and proud of our unique village spirit.
The Bathurst Ambassadors exist to provide a friendly, visible, and accountable presence in the CBD. By welcoming visitors, sharing local knowledge, observing and reporting responsibly, and promoting community pride, we strengthen Bathurst’s reputation as a place of safety, hospitality, and resilience.
We believe safety and friendliness go hand in hand. By transforming informal loitering into a structured, dignified, and accountable programme, we channel local energy into positive action that benefits everyone.
